Norway

Norway is about a search for personal and cultural identity and our endless struggle for survival. We mark identity by what we are not, rather than what we are, and it ties us to the society we live in and where we are placed in the world. Yet a lot of us live with a sense of not belonging.

In the video the little person is struggling so hard to survive in the deep snowy winter. I find that climate determines much of the culture, and this is visualised in the struggle. The insignificance of man in comparison with nature, and the meaninglessness of the struggle seem quite apparent, yet her effort and good spirit stands in stark contrast to this.
